Save as JPEG or PNG
You can now choose the file-type for the files you save using Screengrab! Your choice is limited to JPEG or PNG, but at least there’s a choice.
This is another requested feature, though to be honest I don’t personally see the point.
It’s configurable in the Preferences page, which is a little dumb I admit.
How?
Enter the Screengrab! Settings page, using the Add-ons window and select PNG or JPEG on the “Image Format” radio.
A bit of background
Some people wanted to be able to do this, so I included it. Like I say above, I don’t see the point really. The JPEG output quality is quite poor by default from Java and Firefox, and I don’t know how to configure it, so it will be staying that way.
The format choice is clunky at best. It would be better in the file chooser, but I haven’t gotten around to figuring out how to put it in there. Perhaps just decide the type based on the extension of the filename? But that isn’t a good solution for Macs (since they often don’t use extensions).
